How to be prepared before baby training session starts
Before to start massage and exercises with your baby you need to know how to be prepared and what to expect. For the maximal efficiency and comfort of massage your baby shouldn’t be sleepy. Infant massage and exercises should start at least 40 minutes after feeding. If the session takes place at your home, the room should be well-aired. It is necessary to provide any clean middle size table covered with not very soft blanket. Prepare couple of napkins or soft towels, feeding bottle with water if your baby drinks water. Usually no massage oils or creams are used for infant massage. In some cases, I apply baby powder.
Preparation to start fit ball session
If we agree to make exercises on a fit ball, it is necessary to buy it ahead. The fit ball must be adults – the biggest diameter. Before each session it is necessary to wipe it with antibacterial liquid and cover fit ball with a piece of light textile.
Avoiding stress while infant massage and exercise session
Each baby has an individual needs, energy and stamina. Thus massage and special exercises is a physical stress/ load! My goal is to make your baby happy, developing him or her. This is why, starting a massage session, we will begin it with a light load. Then, together with parents we will be watching your baby’s reaction on actions and movements gradually increasing time and intensity.
What to be ready to / to expect after infant massage and exercises session begins
Be ready that your baby will react to the changes in their daily routine and load in an individual way.
After infant massage and exercises some babies are hungry and ask for more feeding. Most kids fall asleep just after session and can be sleeping unexpectedly longer. This is a natural reaction of the body while adjusting to a load. It is important to remark changes and adjust load level, for example if a baby shows high level of anxiety after. As a rule, a baby get used to these positive changes in 2-4 days of the sessions and their feeding and sleeping routine becomes the same.
Sometimes on second or third day after session starts, very light muscle soreness can appear. Many of adults are familiar with this feeling of muscle soreness discomfort which usually follows after active physical exercise. So, to avoid it, we will start with very delicate movements and moderate load served to strengthen baby’s muscles. A careful monitoring of baby’s reaction will allow to plan intensity and time correctly.
During the session with your baby we make exercises to strengthen all groups of muscles. Special attention is paid to back and abdomen muscles to prepare your baby to uprightness.
